Privacy Policy for VoxTome

VoxTome (“App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Android application, VoxTome, operated by VoxTome Interactive LLC.

1. Information We Collect

When you use VoxTome, we may collect the following information:

Account Information: Email address, username, and date of birth (passwords are handled securely by Firebase Authentication)
User-Generated Content: Bookmarks, notes, highlights, and any posts, comments, or reviews you submit
Device and Technical Data: Device model, OS version, app version, and crash logs

We do not collect listening history or search history.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Create and manage your account
Enable features like bookmarking, posting, and commenting
Improve app stability and diagnose crashes
Ensure users meet the minimum age requirement (18+)

We do not track individual analytics or use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services:

Firebase: Authentication, Firestore, and Crashlytics
Fly.io: Backend hosting
Bunny.net: Audio file delivery

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only:

With trusted infrastructure providers listed above
To comply with legal requirements
To investigate abuse or violations

5. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account remains active. You may delete your account and all associated data via the in-app “Delete My Data” feature. When you delete your account, all of your posts, comments, and other contributions will be permanently removed. We may retain minimal records for a short period to comply with legal obligations or investigate abuse before final deletion.

6. Security

We use secure connections, Firebase authentication, and best practices to protect your data. However, no method is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Children’s Privacy

VoxTome is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Know what data we collect and how it’s used
Request deletion of your personal information
Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

Use the in-app “Delete My Data” button to exercise your rights. We do not currently support data export.

9. EU & International Users

If you are located outside the United States, you consent to the processing and transfer of your information to the United States, where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your country. If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing where applicable under GDPR. 10. Cookies & Local Storage

VoxTome may use local storage or similar technologies to keep you logged in and remember your app preferences. We do not use cookies or trackers for advertising or behavioral profiling.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” and notify you of significant changes.
